The Web's Biggest Success Story of 2012?

While the latest social media sites are grabbing the headlines, the biggest success story of the web last year was a quiet one. Etsy.com, the site that allows crafters to sell online, grew its online sales by more than 70%. In just the last year, the number of Etsy sellers has nearly doubled, and in December alone the site saw more than 1.5 billion page views. But the numbers only tell part of the story. Etsy's 22 million small jewelers, clothingmakers and other small-scale craftspeople are an active part of the growth on the site.
