Creating a vertical rhythm on your website can improve the overall legibility, flow, and visual appeal. Vertical rhythm is the overall flow of your website: the typography chosen in combination with the images and elements of the page. For typography the basic building block is font size and line height. An incorrectly set line height can cause readability issues. Too tight and the text overlaps itself. Too far apart and it becomes difficult to tell what items are connected and what items are separate thoughts or pieces of content.
