Matrix Real Estate
Scope:
Drupal, HTML, PHP, CSS, JQuery
Again Dorey Design Group teamed up with Dulce Design to create this feature-rich real-estate website using Drupal - an open source content managment system (CMS). This site incorporates Google Maps, a blog, several different types of photo galleries and a registration form. Logical Dog incorporated their MLS Search module and agent roster into the site.
DDG + Drupal gave Matrix the ability to change the rotating images on the home page, and add communities on the Google map through a simple back end interface. Because Drupal supports transparent .png files and Jquery, Flash was not necessary.
SEO is handled by the Drupal SEO Module combined with key words and titles input by the site administrators.

Realogics hired Dorey Design to build a website for this community of waterfront condominiums on Lake Union in Seattle, WA. Realogics' in-house graphic designer provided rough Illustrator designs, and Dorey Design sliced it up and turned it into standards compliant html website. We filled in the gaps along the way with copy and images, including high resolution renderings supplied by the Realogics' project manager.
The website sports a Son of Suckerfish style dropdown menu, JQuery image galleries, downloadable floor plans and a registration form. Realogics also hired Dorey Design to launch a series of html email campaigns announcing preview, sales and promotional events.

Karla at Design Duo asked us to build this site based on the design she provided. It is basically a brochure site that provides information, some image galleries, and a contact page to promote a custom home builder in the Seattle area. Realogics and Samis Land Co hired us to build the new site for two apartment buildings in Seatle's historic Pioneer Square. The site was designed by Realogics' in-house graphic designer, and we were given the basic site design, with copy and images to be tweaked along the way. A professional photographer was hired to take photos of furnished models in both the buildings, as well as the lobbies, exteriors and sights around the neighborhood.
Visitors of the site can view photo galleries of the two buildings and the neighborhood. We also embedded Quictime VR tours of the two buidlings. Flash was used for animation on the main landing page, as well as the landing page of each building, and we provided alternate content for devices that do not display Flash (like iPhones) and is visible to search engines.

Scope:
rebuild website to remove textpad content managment system, SEO
One of our longtime clients Realogics came to us to have their site updated and rebuilt, to reflect the changing real-estate markets, as well as to update the functionality of the website. While the overall look of the site was not changed the site was made larger to accommodate higher resolution monitors, as well as to put more information on the screen.
We started by removing an old outdated, and overly complicated content management system, (text pad and replaced it with W3C standards compliant HTML, next we removed some unnecessary flash components and replaced them with jQuery animations. Next we added a new top level menu item for their new brokerage and a news section for the home page. Now the site is easier to use, it loads faster, and is more easily searchable (Google, Bing, Yahoo etc).
The new site can now be managed by Realogics admin staff using Dreamweaver with minimal HTML knowledge.

Robin Chell Design
Scope:
Rebrand and Design an updated website including, SEO copywriting, using PHP, Jquery, HTML, CSS
Robin Chell Design, a Seattle based interior designer needed a website to help grow her business, we built her original website about 5 years ago, and when it was time for a redesign/rebrand Robin contacted us. The project requirements were to build a simple easy to navigate website without using flash, in order to make it search engine friendly.
We used jquery to create image fades to simulate the look of flash. We also added title tags, alt tags and no follow attributes to all of the links on the site to maximize key word density to help the site get high search engine placement.
The site includes original photography, and a new logo design created by our partner Avive Design, also here in Portland, OR.

Scope:
Design and build a complex Drupal-based website to promote a New York Times bestselling author Chelsea Cain.
In collaboration with Avive Design, we created this site using the Drupal content management system (CMS). Implementing the design’s look and feel on top of Drupal template allowed us to use the power of the CMS and its custom content types to keep everything logically arranged and provide our client with a site that is easy to maintain and update with new content.
By using JQuery for animated and interactive elements of the site, we were able to avoid building any Flash elements, allowing for wider platform support and greater SEO. This site will look as good as it does on your iPhone as it does on your computer.
|
Scope:
Build a Drupal-powered fan site for the fictional serial murderer, Gretchen Lowell
As with the author's site, we worked with Lia at Avive Design to build a beautiful, content-managed site using Drupal. By creatively Using Drupal content types we were able to build a dynamic "Cookbook", and a user contributed media section with support for fan uploaded video and audio. Using JQuery, we were able to create animated "advertisement" displays while avoiding the overhead of Flash.
This site also allows for visitors to sign-up for Chelsea Cain's email mailing list.
